YB Dr. Zaliha Mustafa, Minister of Health

The World Health Organization (WHO) was founded 75 years ago with the aim to promote public health action, serve vulnerable populations, and achieve Health For All. Today, these goals remain as relevant as ever, as we face new health challenges.

This year also marks the 65th anniversary of the strong collaboration and steadfast partnership between the health authorities in Malaysia and WHO. Over the years, this partnership has been crucial in addressing health issues and improving the well-being of Malaysians and people around the world.

Together, WHO and Malaysia continue to work tirelessly to ensure access to quality healthcare, promote disease prevention, and advocate for health equity for all. The shared commitment to public health and the unwavering collaboration between WHO and Malaysia have been instrumental in advancing the health and well-being of communities, and will continue to play a vital role in shaping the future of global health.

The Health Minister, YB Dr Zaliha Mustafa emphasized the importance of healthcare as an investment and not expenditure and the need for more financing to achieve the goal of "Health For All".

The government's healthcare programs such as PeKa B40 and MADANI Medical Scheme aim to target low-income groups. The celebration was attended by various officials, including the UN Resident Coordinator for Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei and WHO representatives.

We express our heartfelt gratitude to the World Health Organization (WHO) for entrusting us with the opportunity to serve the World Health Day 2023. It is a great honor to collaborate with WHO in promoting public health and advancing the well-being of our communities. We are committed to ensuring a successful event that raises awareness on important health issues and inspires positive actions towards achieving Health For All. Thank you, WHO, for your unwavering trust and partnership in our shared mission to improve global health outcomes.
